MY COVENANT UNIVERSITY 100LEVEL EXPERIENCE
My experience as a 100-level
student of Covenant University after spending half of the semester has been
both challenging and rewarding. Coming into the university, everything felt new
and overwhelming—from the strict rules and regulations to the academic prowess.
The first few weeks were especially tough as I had to adjust to waking up
early, attending chapel services, and moving from one lecture to another almost
nonstop.
Academically, the workload has
been relatively easier than what I originally thought it will be like. Courses
like CIT and ACC (as I am an accounting student) are ones I relatively look
forward to each week. At first, managing my time was difficult, but as the
weeks passed, I began to understand the importance of planning ahead and
studying. The lecturers are disciplined and knowledgeable, and although they
are strict, it is evident they have the studentÂ’s success at heart.
Beyond academics, life in
Covenant University has helped me grow personally. Living in the hostel taught
me independence (as I was a day student throughout my secondary school),
responsibility, and how to relate with people from different backgrounds. The
environment is the one place I am still not used to as my college building is
situated by a tree full of bats and walking to class while passing through the
bats can be quite frightening.
Spiritually, the university
places strong emphasis on moral and spiritual development through chapel
services and fellowship activities, which has helped strengthen my faith and
character.
Overall, spending half of the
semester in Covenant University has shaped me academically, socially, and
spiritually. Though the journey is demanding, I believe it is preparing me for
a successful future. I canÂ’t wait to successfully finish my four-year program
in this prestigious school.
